Asis CT-City Technologies, which won the smart city tender for realizing the actions in the 2020-2023 National Smart Cities Strategy and Action Plan, guiding the preparation of smart city solutions, local smart city strategy and road map, collaborated with Istanbul University, which has studies on smart cities and new technologies.

With this cooperation, which will produce outputs for the development of university-industry collaborations, the standards of the smart cities of the future will be set.

Asis CT collaborated with Istanbul University after winning the tender opened by the General Directorate of Geographic Information Systems in order to realize the ‘National Smart Cities Strategy and Action Plan’ prepared by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, which will guide the smartening of 81 cities in Turkey. The company, which has made a name for itself with its activities in all cities of Turkey, will proceed with the university’s view on smart cities and new technologies for local governments with this cooperation.

The signing ceremony of the cooperation protocol held at Istanbul University Technopolis building was attended by Prof. Dr. Mahmut Ak, Rector of Istanbul University, Prof. Dr. Murat Şeker, Director of Istanbul University Urban Policies Application and Research Center, Alper Okyar, Director of Istanbul University Technology Transfer Application and Research Center, and Dr. Fatih Gündoğan, General Manager of Asis CT.

Commenting on the signed protocol, Istanbul University Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut Ak said, “I find the move that our country has initiated in the field of smart cities very important in order to build Turkey of tomorrow and to build more livable cities. As a university, we are proud to support Asis CT, which has set out to make cities smart with technology.”

Commenting on the cooperation, Asis CT General Manager Dr. Fatih Gündoğan stated that they have signed an important cooperation with Istanbul University and said, “Within the scope of this protocol, we will provide trainings in 81 provinces in terms of smart cities. I wish this protocol to be beneficial for our country. We care about university-industry cooperation. With this project, we will contribute to the development of Turkey. We look at smart cities as cities that are efficient, sustainable and use technology in the right way. We won the tender for realizing the actions in the 2020-2023 National Smart Cities Strategy and Action Plan, guiding the preparation of smart city solutions, local smart city strategy and road map, and improving the capacity of smart cities in our country. Our company will lead a transformation project together with consultants in the next one year. The concept of smart city is of great importance in eliminating these problems and even turning them into opportunities for urban development in various cases. With the tender we won, we will contribute to smart cities, which aim to improve environmental conditions by using technology to promote economic growth and social development in cities, and to determine road maps.
